While I was in San Francisco last week I had to make a stop at the best design gallery in the city: Hedge Gallery. Co-Owners Steven Volpe and Roth Martin have created an incredible gallery space, full of light and impeccably presented exhibitions year round. Their mission is to present contemporary designers from around the world to a growing audience of design enthusiasts in San Francisco.

Upon arrival I was greeted by Steven and the gallery’s director, Antonio Ametrano. They gave me tour of re:Visions—their latest show presenting a selection of furniture from Michael Boyd’s personal collection as well as objects and furniture Boyd created especially for Hedge, including seating, tables, and stools.

Michael Boyd is not only a designer but has an important collection of 20th-century design. Purposely curated to show his work within the context of his collection, the show effortless presents the dialogue that exists between his new pieces and the historic pieces form his collection. Hedge have extended the show until February 22nd, so there’s still time to check it out if you’re in the area!
