About This Piece

Oil on canvas in a beautiful oak frame. sig. ur, inscribed at the back Agapit Stevens was born on October 21, 1848 in Brussels under the name Agapit Pierre Jean Joseph Van Gotsenhoven. His brother was the painter René Stevens. He was a member of the artists' association L'Essor, but his artistic training is not known. At some point he changed his name to Agapit Pierre Jean Joseph Stevens, and this name appears on his death certificate. He died in 1917 in Watermael-Boitsfort, Brussels. Dimensions : 80 x 100 x 1.5 cm Note: In an oak frame.
