Vintage Design

A stunning and exceptionally comfortable armchair and ottoman set with a gorgeous original golden Piero Fornasetti designer textile (WOW) and a matching footstool that mirrors the armchair's curves. This set features its original upholstery in very good condition throughout. Designed by Giovanni Offredi for the for Saporiti Italia, this armchair retains its original label.

The chair's curved back mirrors the natural curvature of the human spine, albeit slightly exaggerated, providing exceptional comfort. The curved upholstery enhances the relaxing experience, allowing you to enjoy hours of comfort in these chairs. The chair's lines are designed to evoke a large sail bulging in the wind, making it one of Offredi's classic designs.

Though there are light signs of wear, typical for vintage classics, these chairs remain a stunning example of post-modern design. They fit seamlessly into classic mid-century interiors and transitional designs.

Italian designer Giovanni Offredi created these armchairs for Saporiti Italia in the 1970s. Founded by Sergio Saporiti in the 1950s, the company has been renowned for producing timeless designer furniture that remains ahead of its time.
Founded in 1950, Saporiti continues to create some of the most sophisticated and advanced furniture in the history of Italian design. Some Saporiti Italia pieces are displayed in the world's most renowned museums of modern art and design.

This set is in its original vintage condition, showing only minor signs of use. The cushions feature incredible designer textile, the interior padding remains in excellent condition, and the textile is very clean with all seams intact. The Vela Alta is a comfortable lounge chair. It comes with the matching P61 ottoman, which complements the chair perfectly with its matching curve.
