Vintage Design

The Outline wall light, designed by Aldo van den Nieuwelaar and produced by Nila&Nila Lights in Tilburg, Netherlands, in 1985, is a rare and striking example of avant-garde lighting design. Created in very limited numbers by Marius van den Nieuwelaar, this particular piece is the largest of the three sizes produced, making it an extraordinary and highly sought-after object. Constructed from a large acrylic glass square structure, the Outline features four fluorescent lamps, each covered with a differently colored plastic filter; red, blue, yellow, and green. More than just a functional lamp, this piece is a true work of art, with an interactive element: four individual switches allow the user to experiment with different light compositions. When illuminated, the interplay of primary colors creates a mesmerizing visual effect, transforming the space with dynamic hues and shifting light.
