About This Piece

Vintage Design

This example of the legendary "Oscar Armchair" designed by Nello Pini and produced by Novarredo was purchased in 1979 in Livorno, at the "Pilade e Nello Pini interior design" in via Firenze, in the splendid "lobster in textured velvet" finish. We have all this information because the original purchase order was found together with the chair. The armchair was in terrible condition: the torn fabric, the armrests with damaged wooden parts, a strap to hold the backrest securely. The restoration and upholstery were carried out with care and loving patience, using a fabric that resembled the original lobster finish as faithfully as possible.
