Mid-Century Modern Steel and Brass White Italian Table Lamp by Oscar Torlasco

Mid-Century Modern table lamp designed by Oscar Torlasco for Lumi. Made of curved brass structure with the end in the cone shape which float, white lacquered steel lampshade and base. Composed of three bulbs. The handle as the head helps adjust the light according to preference, Italy, 1950s. Italian lighting designer Oscar Torlasco (born in Rome, 1934-2004) designed for a wide array of Italian lighting manufacturers including Esperia and Stilkronen, though he spent most of his career designing for Lumi. Particularly active during the 1950s and 1960s, Torlasco lighting designs - which span sconces, floor lamps, and chandeliers - often utilized Industrial chromed steel which he paired with more luxurious materials such as marble, crystal, and brass. His eclectic designs ranged in style from Industrial and Space Age to Italian Art decor. The use of optical glass lenses within his designs is considered Torlasco's signature. In 1959, he was awarded a Compasso d`Oro for his public street light Genova 4053 (1959).
