Mid-Century Jasperware Biscuit Tin from Huntley Boorne & Stevens, 1950s

Huntley Boorne & Stevens Mid Century Wedgwood Jasperware Biscuit Tin, England, mid 20th century. This is a very decorative biscuit tin by Huntley Boorne & Stevens, one of the premier makers of tins in England in the previous decades. This very company existed from 1832 until 1985 and is famous for their interesting designs. They also made tins for Huntley & Palmers. In the middle of the 20th century they obtained the right to use several Wedgwood designs for their tins and we assume this design must be one of them. These designs were meant to resemble ceramic Wedgwood Jasperware. Very classical and elegant, this design is refined yet playful. The use of only two colors - blue and cream white - make this a very graphical tin.
