About This Piece

This very beautiful, old and original picture of a saint dates from the 1950s.
The scene shows Mary and the baby Jesus surrounded by angels.

These art prints with gilded wooden frames have been extremely popular since the 1920s and were often used as bedroom pictures.
The print is protected by a pane of glass.

The design was probably created by the artist Giovanni Bellini (*around 1437 in Venice; † November 29, 1516).
He came from a Venetian family of painters and a large part of Bellini's work is characterized by devotional images such as the Madonna and Child.
