About This Piece

Vintage Design

Elegant proportions, generous and welcoming lines, this large leather sofa was produced by De Sede in the 1960s. The classic design of this beautiful sofa is underlined by leather lacing stitching, a striking detail of this model giving it a little “haute couture” feel. Combined with a brutalist coffee table and armchairs with an iconic design, this large vintage sofa is a timeless piece that is easy to integrate into a modern interior decor, where it will breathe conviviality and style into the living room space.

The sofa is old and dates from the 60s. Large in size, it can accommodate 4 people minimum. Published by De Sede, Swiss manufacturer of high-end furniture mainly in leather. Made up of 3 large fixed seat and back cushions, the sofa is very comfortable and welcoming. The leather is in good condition, brown in color. The laced seams, typical of this model, are in very good condition. One of the armrests showing more signs of use, visible in the photo. The sofa rests on small wooden glides.

208 to 258cm in length, 57 to 88cm in depth, 37cm in seat height, 56cm in armrest height, 71cm in total height.

de Sede

Like many luxury leather goods brands, furniture-manufacturing company de Sede started out as a saddle-making atelier. Based in Klingnau—located in northern Switzerland near the German border—the company traces its high-end furniture production back to 1965, when the original family-run business incorporated and began to collaborate with international designers on the creation of handmade, premium-leather-clad chairs, lounges, and sofas. Over the years, de Sede’s product offering has expanded to include tables, beds, and more.
