Laboratory Showcase Cabinet from Lundia, 1960s

Lundia Original Laboratory Cabinet with glass doors. comes with 8 shelves, 4 per side, sold without drawer blocks, those are available separately, see below for availability; sliding doors with glass, some with locks (only some of which we have keys for) and on some the locks have been removed leaving a neat round hole, call to check for availability; blond, varnished pine, all solid wood; eminently sensible design, very practical, modular interchangeable parts, this is an expansion of Lundia’s shelving system, it has the same basis but with doors hung in front, many of the components are the same/exchangeable; shelves rest on metal pins inserted at desired height into pre-drilled holes in the side panels, at 5 cm steps; some shelves are labeled: “ Boven (top), LundiaGroep Varsseveld, Linker Voorkant (left front).

Lundia was based in Sweden but also had a factory in the Netherlands; School Lab cupboard / display case / storage / showcase / etagère / bookcase “ Lundia was created in 1949, when the Swedish designer Harald Lundqvist managed to make the Dutch furniture makers Heinen and Colebrander enthusiastic about his shelving units and storage systems, based on his patented wood-tenon connection. In the same year, production of Lundia’s flexible cabinet system was started in Varsseveld in the Achterhoek region. Lundia will later grow into one of the largest producers of wooden furniture in the Netherlands.
