Kensho light by Astrid Hauton Dimensions: W 37 x D 18 x H 59 cm Materials: woven washi paper, waxed black Valchromat, polyphane, Japanese paper, removable cover in opalescent acrylic glass. « Kensho », in Zen tradition, refers to the experience of enlightenment, of seeing our true nature. The Kensho lamp has been created to embrace this concept by transcending the usual form and fonction of tatami. Combined with washi paper, it turns into a light. The presence of the Kensho lamp is an invitation to see beyond our common sense of reality. The Kensho lamp is part of the Kawayama collection. Made from the weaving mat that covers the tatamis, the Kawayama collection takes this iconic element of the Japanese culture to a new dimension. Traditionally flat and straight, the tatami suddenly expands in volume and curves, to become luxury homeware and contemporary furniture. Each object is made by hand, following a unique and meticulous process, which reveals the surprising structural properties and sublimates the vibrant effect of this woven material. The KENSHO lamp comes in different colour combinations. The electric cable can be in light or dark gray.

Delivery will be completed by a parcel service such as UPS, DHL, or FedEx.
