The portfolio "Epitaph - Karl Amadeus Hartmann" was commissioned by Elisabeth and Richard P. Hartmann in memory of German composer Karl Amadeus Hartmann, with the support of the Cultural Department of the City of Munich, in an edition of 100, hand-numbered on the colophon (further four hundred copies, numbered from 101 to 500, were printed on a high-speed press and must not be considered original).
This graphic was designed and drawn by the artist, then printed as zinc-lithograph by Willi Fischer in individual copies under the control of the artist (from the colophon).

Hartung, Werner, Nay, Loth, Zao Wou Ki, Lardera, König, Saura, Santomaso, Geiger, Strazza, Jänisch, Zimmermann, Marini, v. Gugel, Grzimek, Vedova, Saura, Thieler, Purrmann, Schmidt-Rottluff, E.
