The clock and the pedestal were designed by Leuteritz using old forms in the Rococo style: The clock case rises on a rock base with gold heightened rocailles, richly decorated with delicate, sculpted flowers, leaves and rocailles that play around the dial. Below three figures: on the left on the rock a seated gardener with a garland of flowers, in the center a seated girl with a basket filled with apples, pears and plums on her lap, next to her a standing boy playing the flute, the case is crowned by a girl sitting on a rock with a small bunch of flowers. Brightly colored staffage, flower painting and gold ornamentation between the sculpted floral decoration. White porcelain dial with gold painted and black shaded Roman numerals, brass surround. Separate rectangular base on four volute feet with elaborately sculpted floral overlays, curved edges with gold decoration, a central panel with bouquet painting on the front, flowers and insects scattered over the entire surface. Original movement marked 'LENZKIRCH AUG 1 Million', movement no. 726868, working 7 days, checked by a master watchmaker, completely cleaned and fully functional. Designed by ERNST AUGUST LEUTERITZ (1818-1893): He studied at the academy in Dresden, was a sculptor and from 1849 to 1886 he held the position of head of design at the Meissen porcelain manufactory, and in 1882 he became professor. He worked on vessel shapes and figures from the 18th century and designed vases, centerpieces and candlesticks in the styles of Rococo and Classicism. Design of model 572 circa 1865-1875.
